Founded in March 1999, the Famous Furniture Fair of Dongguan is a prestigious international brand exhibition in China’s home furnishing industry. It is also a world-famous business card of Dongguan and the locomotive of Dongguan’s exhibition economy. It was founded in the early stage of the booming development of China’s furniture industry with the original intention of promoting the development of the local furniture industry. Because of this, the Famous Furniture Fair has formed the unique feature of “exhibition in front and factory behind”, which provides a natural foundation for in-depth cooperation and communication between exhibitors and visitors.
Relying on the furniture industry cluster in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the exhibition is held in the surrounding area, which gathers tens of thousands of furniture manufacturing companies of different sizes, as well as rich upstream and downstream resources of the pan-home furnishing industry chain. Houjie has become the furniture manufacturing hinterland with the most concentrated manufacturing industry in China, and the famous furniture exhibition has become the core platform of China’s most important furniture production base.
The Dongguan International Famous Furniture Fair was founded under the direct guidance and operation of the Houjie Town Committee and Town Government, with the goal of promoting the long-term healthy development of the local furniture industry. In the same year, the “Dongguan Famous Furniture Club” was established as the organizer of the Famous Furniture Fair. After the exhibition got on track, it realized a completely market-oriented operation.
Dongguan International Famous Furniture Fair (FAMOUS FURNITURE FAIR) is based on the famous furniture exhibition. The first phase of the No. 9 Pavilion Famous Home Expo Park with an area of over 400,000 square meters was completed and opened, forming the world’s largest exhibition and trade integrated platform integrating global brand exhibitions, franchising, procurement and direct sales. In 2017, resources were further integrated to create the 30,000 square meters of the No. 8 Pavilion for Whole House Customization. In 2018, the International Famous Brand Street with 9 independent stores was fully opened. So far, the furniture exhibition and trade cluster radiating the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with No. 9 Pavilion as the center has taken shape. With the official release of the Outline of the Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the groundbreaking ceremony of the second phase of the exhibition center, No. 10 Pavilion, was officially launched on March 16, 2019. The second phase of the No. 10 Pavilion project covers an area of 64,000 square meters, with a planned construction area of 380,000 square meters. It is connected to the first phase of the No. 9 Pavilion. The scale of the first and second phases will reach 780,000 square meters of construction area, forming the world’s largest large home headquarters complex.
