China International Import Expo (CIIE) is the world’s first import-themed national exhibition. China International Import Expo (CIIE) is jointly organised by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, the China International Import Expo Bureau (CIIEB), the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTD).
CIIE promotes market connectivity, industrial integration, innovation and rules between China and the world, and has become a demonstration window for China’s new development model, a platform for high-level opening up, an effective carrier for high-quality development and an important stage for multilateralism. The functions of the four platforms of international procurement, investment promotion, humanistic exchanges and open cooperation have been highlighted, and the role of international public products has become more and more prominent, winning wide acclaim both at home and abroad.
