China-ASEAN Expo is an international economic and trade event jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the economic and trade departments of the 10 ASEAN governments and the ASEAN Secretariat, and hosted by the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. It has become a national annual key exhibition directly sponsored by the country with special international influence, playing an important role in promoting China-ASEAN friendly cooperation, serving the construction of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, and promoting international production capacity cooperation.
The China-ASEAN Expo is a unique international expo that is highly praised by the political and business circles of China and ASEAN countries. It is the only expo among more than 6,000 expo in China that is attended by major Chinese leaders. The expo attended by the leaders of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, the Boao Forum for Asia, and the Summer Davos Forum will be listed as national-level expo.
Focusing on the investment cooperation theme set up by CAEXPO, more than 80 ASEAN investment promotion activities were held, involving international capacity cooperation, international engineering contracting, labor cooperation, resource development, information technology, energy development, infrastructure construction, park investment promotion, railways, non-ferrous metals, electricity, agriculture and other fields. It is an ideal platform for China, ASEAN and countries along the Belt and Road to release investment environment and investment policies, carry out capacity cooperation, and connect investment projects. At the same time, CAEXPO will also hold a high-level multi-field cooperation forum covering more than 40 fields such as customs, inspection and quarantine, finance, logistics, information, etc. Through participating in dialogue and exchanges, a cooperation mechanism can be established to promote the implementation of projects and share the business opportunities of the Belt and Road.
The China Asean Expo, with the theme of “Innovation and Upgrading”, focuses on the deep integration of information technology, intelligence and manufacturing, and aims to promote industrial upgrading through technological innovation. It aims to further strengthen the cooperation between China and ASEAN in international production capacity and equipment manufacturing, and pay more attention to the technological content and added value of export products.
The China Asean Expo will vigorously develop trade in services, effectively guide and support enterprises to “go global” to carry out production capacity and investment cooperation, and further build an industrial chain and value chain with deeper integration, stronger momentum and wider benefits.
